• Take a second before you start playing Candy Crush level 599 to examine the level. It’s tempting to charge right in and start making striped candies, but there’s something you need to consider first. That something is the collection of licorice at the top of the board.


• Yes, once again, licorice cages are ruining everything. They’re blocking any new candies from entering the board. This means that the more moves you make without breaking the licorice, the fewer candies will remain and the harder it will be to make more moves.
• You need to figure out how you’re going to break the licorice right away. In the example above, there are no ways to naturally remove the licorice by normal matches. There just aren’t any matching candies next to the cages.
• However, there is a source of salvation. Directly underneath the licorice sits a collection of vertically striped candies of various colors. All of them are trapped in marmalade. You will need to free them and then use them in order to get rid of the licorice.
• There are a few ways to do this in the above scenario. Our player could target the green striped candy to the center left. They could also target the red one to the center right by making a red wrapped bomb and detonating it in a subsequent turn. This approach is a little more risky, but could result in two striped candies being freed instead of just one. Fortune favors the bold.
• Once you’ve broken at least one licorice cage (but preferably two), you can concentrate on your objective. Making 20 striped candies in 40 moves is no mean feat, even when four of them are technically made for you. You’d essentially need to make a striped candy every other turn and collect them all without fail. This seems difficult, if not impossible.
• There is still hope, though! Remember your special candy combos. They’ll save your life…er, lives. Look for opportunities to make a color bomb. Then, save it until you can combine it with a striped candy. This will turn all the candies of that color on the board into striped candies and set them all off.
• It may seem like a challenge to create a color bomb, but remember that you have a conveyor belt to work with. You can transport candies around the board to place where certain colors are more populous.
• Be sure that you don’t waste any time making special candies that don’t help you reach your goals. By this, we mean specifically that you should not make wrapped bombs unless it’s strictly necessary. Not only do they waste moves you could spend on making striped candies, they might screw up your plan. They can explode prematurely and destroy your carefully-crafted color bomb.
