• Level 21 allows you 45 moves in which to obtain 27,000 points and remove 27 squares’ worth of jelly. Don’t worry–this jelly is only single-layered, so one hit will clear a square, but there’s a catch: the jelly is hidden. You’ll have to remove squares of meringue first in order to get at the jelly. This is the first level with meringue in it, so get used to it–you’ll be seeing a lot of this basic blocker for many of the ensuing levels.


• The most basic technique for removing meringue is by making a match adjacent to the block. This will destroy the fragile meringue and allow candy to take its place. Once the meringue is removed, you can proceed to destroy the jelly in the usual manner.
• As always, you can use special candies to clear the board faster. Special candies will only remove one thing at a time, but you can use bombs to your advantage early in the level by blasting a hole in the meringue. (The secondary blast of wrapped bombs should also take out some jelly, so that’s an added bonus.) Remember to look for L or T shapes that you can make so as to form more bombs. Horizontal striped candies are invaluable here as well, as they can clear out up to 9 entire squares of jelly (or 8 of meringue) in one turn. 
• If you’re having trouble making any special candies, you can still beat the level simply by making the most of your moves. Obviously you’ll be concentrating on the bottom of the grid, but in the beginning, try to make horizontal matches adjacent to the meringue to remove the most blockers possible.
