Candy Crush Is Heading To China

Tencent Holding is said to release Candy Crush Saga in China. Tencent Holdings is one of the largest Internet companies in the world and provides services throughout China.

The only companies in front of them are Google, Amazon, Ebay, and Facebook. The company offers many different services such as social networking, streaming media, auction sites and many more.

Candy Crush will be available to customers that use Tencent’s Mobile QQ and Weixin Game Centers. Currently in China, Candy Crush has not reached the levels that it has in other locations around the world. The game is available in China for purchase on iTunes app store, but it is currently only at number 65 in the store.

Riccardo Zacconi, the CEO at King Digital Entertainment stated:

“I am thrilled to be launching Candy Crush Saga with Tencent in China. Tencent has the largest mobile social network in China and is a great partner to work with. I look forward to working together to make Candy Crush Saga as popular in China as in the rest of the world.”

Steven Ma, Senior Vice President at Tencent stated:

“Tencent always hopes to bring global premier mobile games to China, and Candy Crush is one of the best. We are excited that our collaboration will combine King’s enjoyable mobile gaming experience and Tencent’s strong game publishing and operation capabilities in China. We are looking forward to bringing great moments of fun to Chinese users soon.”

Candy Crush is said to be released in China sometime this year. This deal between King and Tencent will hopefully benefit both of the companies. With King’s IPO falling short of expectations this year, having the game released to a new country should definitely help increase their users and revenue, putting them back on top. For Tencent this deal should help increase their mobile gaming industry and also increase the users on their social networking site WeChat.
